First Training Finished!

Wow! Our Rwanda classes are completed. :)

The classes were held in the Bible Training Center.

This is looking to the east at the training center. The building below on the left is the cafeteria and the building on the right below is the dormitory.
Our students did not stay in the dorm. They all live in Kigali and worked every day then came to the class every night. We also taught all day each Saturday.
We had a great group of students, many who are leaders in their churches, or are teachers already. Since the government is mandating that the country go to English from French, eveyone is required to learn English.

After a week of training, our students had to prepare a practicum and present part of a 2-hour lesson plan (2 students presenting one lesson) either last night (Friday) or today.

This is a picture of the students with their manuals along with the teachers.

Here is the guesthouse where Diana and I stayed.

Here are some random pictures of Kigali.

Teaching in Rwanda

Here is a picture of Diana and Loretta getting ready to have breakfast on Loretta's patio in Nairobi.

We were invited to the Kuerts for supper and they surprised me with a birthday cake and a beautiful scarf. It was good to see old friends again. :)

Wow, we have been in Rwanda from Saturday through Tuesday! We taught all day Saturday,(the picture is of some of the students)

...went to church on Sunday and took a nice drive out to the La Palisse hotel on the lake. After a nice lunch in a gazebo by the lake we returned to Kigali.

This is a picture of the missionaries' home in Kigali, Billy and Jo Wilson, a very sweet couple that have been wonderful to us.
Our classes this week are from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The country is beautiful and the temperatures have been in the 80s during the day and down in the 50s and 60s at night. We have gotten rain showers almost every day.
Today we had a gully washer!

When we got back from the Memorial our guest house was flooded and the water was standing in the house. We had to use a squeegee, brooms and a towel to mop up all the water. :) My backpack and some of my things are still hanging on the chair with a fan drying them out. Our training classes have been going great, although tonight several students couldn't make it to the class from the continuing rain. Hopefully they will be able to come tomorrow night.
