Well we have gotten started on our Spring school term. I was in hopes that the cold weather would be over when I returned from America, but wehave had some pretty cold temps. During the Spring Festival there was a lantern festival here in Changzhou and some of the foreign teachers decided to take it in. We were able to walk down to the canal about three blocks from the apartment and take in the sites. This lantern was at the entrance to the big park.
The flowers were beautiful. The teachers are Edward, Barbara, and Cat.
The night air was rally cold but the lanterns were gorgeous and were everywhere, even out in the water as a lotus garden.
As you can tell, there were lots of pretty lanterns. . .hard to imagine that they are made of paper and wire with lights inside. We had a great time taking in all the sites.
Well enough about the festival. During the first week of school I was told that I would have to move to a new apartment with another teacher (Barbara). We both liked living where we were but were told the school couldn't keep the apartments. Anyway, we finally got moved in to our new "digs" and I thought I would send along a picture of our new living room.
(I think we are going to like the new place). :) More pictures to follow in a future blog.
I'll sign off for now so I can get some sleep - I have made it through my first two weeks!! (yea!)
